What is the time commitment involved?

The Leadership St. Tammany Program time commitment consists of:

  • One Mandatory Weekend Retreat in August
  • One full day per month for class – typically from 8am – 5pm on the second Wednesday of each month, except when it conflicts with a holiday week for Mardi Gras or Easter
  • One Evening Retreat in May
  • Graduation in late May or early June

Attendance at the weekend retreat is mandatory for selection and participation for the class year. Class members are allowed to miss up to 9 class hours cumulative and still graduate with their class. If more than 9 class hours are missed (up to 27 hours), the class member has the following two years to make up those hours and still graduate. In short, you have to attend if you want to graduate.

This policy reflects the Program’s understanding that most of its’ participants are busy, busy people.
